Michael Collins & Kenmare
Beal na Balth is getting spruced up to be ready in time for the 100th anniversary of the ambush/assassination on August 22, 2022, so we were only able to drive by. The stones in the ancient circle in Kenmare might be some kind of ancient calendar, similar to other ancient stone circles. It was hard to find an empty branch to tie a wish to the fairy tree.
Sheep!
The sheep at the Kissane Sheep Farm were moving too fast to count, thanks to border collie Glenna, who keeps them all in order. She followed commands by either whistle or voice, but she's smart enough to recognize her master's voice and only follows the commands coming from him. When Glenna tracked wayward sheep, she crouched down low to the ground, looking very wolf-like. She was clearly in charge and the sheep knew it!
Killarny National Park
Created by glaciers, this is a series of lakes and valleys of stunning beauty. It's easy to be green here - in more shades than you can describe. On their day off from royal duties, Queen Victoria's ladies came to Ladies View to enjoy the views of the lake. The Torc Waterfall was roaring after yesterday's long rain.
